I met Lydia through teaching and through our love of live music - we both ended up at the same minute little instore gig of Frank Turner’s in Old Town, Swindon in 2018. We bonded immensely over how Frank’s music could make us feel better on even the most stressful of days and saw each other at a number of other gigs along the way. When she told me of her diagnosis, I told her to remember what we used to say about music - it may not take all our pain away, but helps us heal a little. Be that true or not, I have hope that it helped. When I’m next at a gig where I know she would have loved to be, I will cherish the moments we had a little stronger.
